The Iceland Enterprise Investment Fund (EIF) has sold its remaining 7% share in Icelandair at a price of ISK 6.6 billion. This represents the end of the EIF‘s involvement in Icelandair, as the Fund no longer holds any shares n the company.

The EIF acquired a 30% share in Icelandair in 2010 at the price of ISK 3.6 billion. „The acquisition formed a part of the financial and operational restructuring of the company following the economic crisis. The development of the company has been successful and its operations have seen strong growth. The company has driven the growth and development of the Icelandic tourist sector in recentyears.

The Fund has divested itself of its shares in four stages over an equal number of years for a total of ISK 15.2 billion.
