The Iceland Enterprise Investment Fund was founded in December 2009 by 16 Icelandic pension funds. Landsbanki and VÍS Insurance later joined the group of owners. The purpose of the fund was to participate in and shape the financial and operational restructuring of the Icelandic economy following the collapse of the financial system.
The Iceland Enterprise Investment Fund has invested for over ISK 43 billion since its foundation, and has paid a dividend of ISK 86.2 billion. The estimated value of remaining holdings are of the nominal value of ISK 4.5 billion. The estimated total value of the EIF is therefore be 90.0 billion ISK according to the most recent estimate, with expected IRR of 22.6% per year.
